Hi everyone:

How was your Turkey Day?  Mine was great.  We had a lot of fun and ate way too much.  Then yesterday I hit the stores at 5:30 a.m and shopped for 11 hours!  I got a lot accomplished and feel really good about it.  Another thing I feel really good about is my 2008 scrapbook.  I have been working really hard to get my own scrapbook up to date  and it  is coming along nicely.  Below is a lay out I did recently.  Take a peek...

   

This was my sister graduating from nursing school this past January.  I used a graduation set, some chipboard and glitter.  Simple, but a nice layout.  BTW, the handsome man she is standing with is my hubby Bill.  If he wasn't so easygoing, there is no way I could do half of what I do with this business.  Thanks honey!   Again, I have a page protector on my layout, so that is why there is a glare.  I need to remember to take the picture before I take the picture :)

10 Minute Tuesday

Hi Stampers!

Welcome to 10 minute Tuesday.  The purpose of today's post is to show you projects that can be completed in 10 mins or less. Today's post is a layout I did this past weekend.  I spent 28 hours scrappin down the Cape.  It was pure heaven!  I had a great time with my friend Jacki.  I can't wait to go back next year. 

OK, so back to the layout. This layout was completed using a little bit of designer series paper, card stock, ribbon and a stamp set called Itty Bitty Backgrounds.  Take a peek.

 

  Very simple layout.  The DSP is called Junior Varsity.  The card stock is Bashful Blue, Old Olive, Rose Red, and So Saffron.  The ribbon is Rose Red and So Saffron.  Sorry for the glare.  I put my page protectors on before taking the pictures. Dumb move on my part :)

Tutorial Thursday

  Hi everyone!

Today's tutorial is called the Tag Punch Star. This tutorial was created by Donna Moore a fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrator.   Enjoy!

Supplies

• Large Tag Punch
  
• Small Tag Punch
  
• 2-way Glue Pen
  
• Dimensionals
  
• Cardstock for frame
  
• Mulberry, Vellum or other light-weight paper for inner parts of the starburst
  
• Detail Scissors

Step 1

Punch 16 small tags out of cardstock, leaving about 1/4" between each one.

Using the large tag punch, go back over the holes made by the small punch.

Line up the punch so that you can see an evenly spaced frame around each hole. Punch out 16 frames.

 

Step 2

Each layer of the star will consist of 4 frames. Apply two-way glue evenly over the back of a few frames at a time.

Put the sheet of lighter weight paper face-side up and carefully apply your frames in a cross-shaped pattern.

 

Step 3

Follow the same process for attaching the next layer of 4 frames to the base layer.

The second layer is attached to fill in the empty areas of the first cross-shaped layer.

 

Step 4

The points of the star will be visible when the second layer is attached. Use paper snips to trim away the excess.

 

Step 5

Repeat Steps 2-5 to make another star. Use dimensionals to adhere the two stars.

 

Step 6

Finish your project.

Welcome to 10 minute Tuesday.  Below is a quick and easy Thanksgiving Day card that I saw on a display board at my Fall Fest event.  Take a peek.

The pumpkin was made using the oval punch and the sentiment was stamped using the Holidays & Wishes stamp set.  The leaves are from the Autumn Harvest set. The rest of the supplies are as follows:

Paper- Pumpkin pie, Old Olive, Really Rust, Whisper White

Ink-Pumpkin pie, Old Olive, Really Rust

Tools- Sponges
